July is nearly here .
The weather is awesome and here at ROAVR we are racing between creative and survey projects across the UK.
As I sit here typing this in Aberdeen Airport, Connor is flying north, I’m flying south and Paul is heading into deepest darkest Morayshire to look at wind turbines.
All systems go!
However, it would seem all is not well in the drone world this week!
English Heritage has banned drones from all their sites.
I’m not surprised really.
With hobby drones on the increase, the opportunity for some quiet enjoyment in the countryside is diminishing.
But it’s always been like this, horse riders fighting with walkers, off-roaders arguing with fisherman, it’s the British way.
I started my career as a Countryside Ranger so I know just how tricky the balance is .
Luckily, at ROAVR we are used to working with stakeholders to achieve our clients objectives and have never been refused permission to fly.
That includes Transformers at Stonehenge and Michael Bay wanted to blow that up! True story.
In other news, I took a day out yesterday.
Not for a well earned rest, oh no.
I had my first school lunch in 25-years!
You see my wee man James is off to school in a month or so, time really flys!
So as the deadline approaches for your shoot, don’t leave those permissions until the last minute and give me a call to see how ROAVR can support your shoot.
Until next time...
Matt.
